Social Investment Managers and Advisors (SIMA) LLC registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is looking for an Analyst / Associate / Senior Investment Officer, depending on your experience, to support the growth of the asset management company focused on the bottom of the pyramid investment opportunities with commercial returns and clear social benefits.

What the job involves?
- Conduct primary and secondary market research on impact sectors in emerging markets
- Gain experience in project & and structured finance deals within the impact space in emerging markets
- Originate and vet new deals for the pipeline
- Understand the fundamentals of the target companies, their business models, markets, and macroeconomic environment.
- Supporting the firm in all deal-related tasks, including on-site due diligence in emerging markets, financial and credit analysis, and deal structuring.
- Writing investment memos and presenting findings to the Investment Committee.
- Assist in the negotiation of the deal documents and maintain relationships with portfolio companies.
- Develop a network in the impact investing space and participate in industry events.
- Maintain a well-controlled operating environment.
- Traveling to emerging markets for portfolio management and Due Diligence: 30-40% of the time
Who we are looking for?
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Management, Finance, Economics, and related fields; possession of or completion of the exam series in relevant certifications such as CFA, CAIA or FRM is preferred.
- Strong quantitative skills, a high degree of proficiency with Excel, and applied financial modeling experience.
- Strong preference for candidates with experience working with off-grid solar company(s)
- Fluency in English, with proficiency in French, will be an added advantage.
- At least 2-5 years’ experience in deal sourcing, deal appraisal, and structuring, gained with investment banking, emerging market investing, and impact investing in the renewable energy sector.
