Fight Inequality Alliance are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual who will lead key pieces of the Online and Offline Mobilisation Strategy work in the second half of 2024. To help coordinate and power the period of growth and change as a result of the 10-year road map, an expanded Global Secretariat Team will be fully recruited by the first half of 2025. In the interim period, short term capacity is needed to ensure initial progress towards the year 1 objectives for the roadmap can be met while there is limited capacity in the global staff team.
What you’ll do
- Lead the implementation of the 2024 online and offline mobilisation strategy globally for FIA, including ensuring mobilisation targets are met
- Working with national and regional coordinators to develop their 3-year mobilisation journey and plans
- Project management of the process
- Map and ensure delivery of skills and capacity building needed for implementation
- Mass engagement strategy and operational planning for major campaign pushes in collaboration with the Communications and Media Lead – specifically the Global Gathering (week of 2 September), plus 1-2 smaller campaign pushes
- Leading development of January 2025 global mobilisation – the Global Protest to Fight Inequality as the WEF meets in Davos
- Work jointly with the media and communications team to develop coherent public narratives for mobilising supporters online and offline
- Build strong working relationships with mobilisation teams in members organisations and allies and develop joint initiatives and mechanisms for mobilisation
- A range of other movement building and change management tasks as reasonably required by line manager
What we’re looking for:
- Extensive experience (minimum 10 years) building up multi country organisations’ and organising and mobilising capacity.
- At least 4 years leading and managing global mobilising teams, preferably in an international or non-profit setting
- Experience in political engagement with ability to develop and implement political strategies to advance goals and navigate political dynamics
- Knowledge and experience in mobilising using both online and offline strategies
- Experience in alliance building and sustaining partnerships with organisations and individuals that share common goals
- Experience in community organising including building grassroots support and mobilising volunteers
- Experience of successfully coordinating mass mobilisation, providing global support for national actions, organising key global events, producing global campaign materials, and organising global gatherings
- Substantive multi-country experience in organisations working in alliance with social movements, NGOs and unions.
- Leadership experience in decentralised contexts and multiple accountability structures.
- Able to work fluently in English, with Spanish an advantage
Position type: This is a full-time role, that will be contracted using a consultancy through our fiscal sponsor, MS-TCDC (our global fiscal sponsor)
Contract duration: Initially 7 months
